Who should own the rights to your digital information?

We should have full ownership of our digital information and not the government or anyone else.

Has your position changed or remained the same?

My position remained the same from in class.

What points from the video support your stance?

The points that supports my stance are...

  • A law for European citizens states that,”You are not allowed to use anyone else’s data,” so why can’t it be applied here in the US?
In the video it also states that,”The legislator says that we have ownership of our information.”so that means that the government shouldn’t have the right to our information.

What points from the video goes against your stance?

One of the points that goes against my stance was that no one told them they couldn’t collect the information. The people gave them permission to use there personal information in exchange for using their product because they had no choice because if they denied then they couldn’t get the product.

What is a question you have that might generate research to support your argument?

If the government takes our information, how do we know we are protected?
